Payments & Payouts

Payout

A single transfer of funds from HypeRaise to a program's connected bank account, issued on a set payout schedule.

What it means

A payout is a single transfer of funds from HypeRaise to a program's connected bank account, representing the program's net proceeds becoming available for actual use. Payouts are the mechanism by which money raised online during a campaign turns into funds a treasurer can actually spend on uniforms, travel, equipment, or whatever the campaign was raised for.

How it works on HypeRaise

Payouts move from the program's Stripe-connected account, established during account setup through Stripe Connect, to the specific bank account the program registered when setting up its HypeRaise account. This transfer typically takes a few business days to complete once initiated, similar to standard bank transfer timing anywhere else.

Key details

Programs can generally expect payouts at set intervals while a campaign is actively running, along with a final payout after the campaign closes and all pending transactions have settled. The specific cadence depends on the program's own configuration and Stripe's standard payout timing rules.

Clear, scheduled payouts give treasurers a predictable pattern they can reconcile against school or booster club financial records, rather than trying to match an unpredictable series of ad hoc transfers against a running list of individual donations. This predictability is part of what makes month-end or campaign-end reconciliation manageable for a volunteer treasurer rather than requiring dedicated bookkeeping expertise.

Why it matters for administrators

Clear, scheduled payouts give treasurers a predictable pattern to reconcile against school or club financial records.
