Roles & Organizations

Volunteer Treasurer

The volunteer, usually a parent, responsible for a booster club's finances, including fundraising income and reporting.

What it means

The volunteer treasurer is the parent or community member responsible for a booster club's financial recordkeeping, typically an unpaid role filled by whoever on the club's board has agreed to take it on for that year. Unlike a school business office role, this position usually rotates as parents join and leave the club from year to year.

How it works on HypeRaise

The volunteer treasurer is often the person who sets up a booster club's HypeRaise account, monitors campaign progress and payouts, and reconciles platform reporting against the club's own bank statements. On smaller clubs, this same person may also serve as the program administrator for the club's campaigns.

Key details

Because the role turns over frequently and is rarely filled by someone with formal accounting training, centralized and exportable reporting matters more here than in almost any other role on the platform. An incoming treasurer taking over from a predecessor can pull a complete campaign history and export directly from HypeRaise, rather than relying on whatever informal notes or spreadsheets the previous volunteer happened to leave behind.

Clear payout schedules and automatic donor receipts also reduce the burden on a volunteer treasurer specifically, since neither requires ongoing manual tracking to stay accurate between one treasurer's term and the next.

Why it matters for administrators

Because the role turns over often and rarely comes with formal accounting training, centralized and exportable reporting matters more here than almost anywhere else on the platform.
