Roles & Organizations
A student participant, often a team or squad leader, who takes an active role in encouraging teammates to fundraise.
A team captain, in the context of HypeRaise fundraising, is a participant who takes on an informal leadership role in driving campaign participation among teammates, distinct from any administrative or platform permissions. This is a designation about influence and example-setting within the team, not a technical role within the software itself.
Team captains often share their own personal fundraising link first, before asking teammates to do the same, and may take on responsibilities like reminding the team about deadlines, celebrating milestones, or encouraging participants who haven't started sharing their page yet. Because peer-to-peer fundraising relies on participants actually reaching out to their own networks, having a visible, engaged leader within the team can meaningfully shift how quickly the rest of the roster gets moving.
Coaches and program administrators can lean on team captains as an informal extension of their own outreach, particularly for larger rosters where individually checking in with every participant isn't practical. A captain who has already hit a strong personal fundraising total, and who talks about it openly with teammates, tends to be more persuasive than another reminder email from an adult.
Because the role carries no special platform access, assigning a team captain doesn't require any setup in HypeRaise itself; it's purely a leadership designation the coach or team chooses to recognize.
Coaches and administrators can use team captains to drive early participation without adding administrative overhead to the platform setup.
HypeRaise gives coaches, boosters, and parent volunteers the tools to run a centralized, transparent, and effective campaign.
