What it means

Cash and check reconciliation refers to tracking donations collected outside the platform, in person at a game, a concession stand, or handed directly to a coach, and accounting for them alongside the online totals reported through HypeRaise. These offline gifts are not processed through Stripe and do not appear automatically in platform reporting.

How it works on HypeRaise

Because HypeRaise's reporting reflects only transactions processed through the platform, a program that also collects cash or checks needs to track those separately, typically through the club's own recordkeeping, and combine the two when reporting a campaign's full results to boosters or school leadership.

Key details

Programs that route as much giving as possible through the platform, using share links, QR codes, or text-to-give even at in-person events, reduce how much offline reconciliation is needed and lower the risk of cash or checks going untracked between collection and deposit.

When offline gifts do occur, documenting them promptly and keeping a clear, dated log makes year-end and audit-time reconciliation considerably easier than trying to reconstruct informal cash handling after the fact.
