Fundraising Fundamentals
A donation made without the donor's name being displayed publicly on the campaign page or donor wall.
An anonymous donation is a gift where the donor has chosen not to have their name displayed publicly, whether on the campaign page, the donor wall, or any other public-facing reporting. The donation itself is still fully recorded and reported to the program; only the public display of the donor's name is suppressed.
A donor selects this option at checkout, and HypeRaise then withholds their name from any public list, such as the donor wall, while still processing the transaction, generating a receipt, and crediting the gift to the correct campaign or participant total.
Anonymity applies only to public display. The program administrator can still see the donor's name and gift details in the platform's own reporting, which matters for personal thank-you outreach, reconciliation, and recordkeeping even when a donor has opted out of public recognition.
Some donors choose this option for privacy reasons unrelated to the size of the gift, so administrators should avoid assuming an anonymous donation is necessarily larger or smaller than a publicly attributed one.
Anonymous giving still shows up fully in a program's own reporting and reconciliation, even though the donor's name is withheld from public view.
HypeRaise gives coaches, boosters, and parent volunteers the tools to run a centralized, transparent, and effective campaign.
